District West police claim seizing smuggled items in 10-hour action
The District West police have claimed that they led a grand operation in the adjoining areas of the Saeedabad Bus Terminal where they seized a large quantity of smuggled items.
The police said they had received the information that a bulk of items was dumped near the bus terminal which had been smuggled into the city from different parts of the country and abroad.
A grand operation was planned by the police to seize the smuggled items, under which 600 personnel from District West and other units of the Sindh police carried the raid in Yousuf Goth.
The police claimed that the operation lasted for more than 10 hours during which they faced resistance from smugglers but managed to seize the smuggled goods and arrested 32 suspects.
They also claimed that during the operation near Naval Colony Gate, some 100 to 150 miscreants attacked the police battalions due to which a police mobile vehicle was damaged. The miscreants also allegedly torched a dumper truck.
